The Ministry for the Future

Reviewed on , book by Kim Stanley Robinson

A piece of fiction set a few decades in the future, playing out severe climate change. The first scene plays out the most deadly heatwave ever in India; attributed to climate change, killing 10,000s as people plunder generators and air-conditioning units. Unfortunately, from here, the book’s trajectory is downhill. I would rate it a 2, but some of the scenes from this book still stick in memory. I love the idea of this book, I want to like the book, but the last half was too much of a slog to get through.
