* **2023-present:** Co-founded [turbopuffer](https://turbopuffer.com), a fast search engine for object storage.
* **2021-2023:** Hopped around in 3-month increments at friends' companies helping them scale their infrastructure (Replicate, Causal, Datafold, Readwise, etc.)
* **2019-present:** Started maintaining [sirupsen/napkin-math](https://github.com/sirupsen/napkin-math) and blogging on the topic.
* **2013-2021:** Moved to Ottawa, Canada (where I still live) to work at Shopify. Worked as Principal Engineer/Director on all aspects of the infrastructure as we scaled from 1K to 1M requests per second.
* **2012-2013:** Competed for Denmark in high school at the [International Olympiad in Informatics][ioi] (not that good at it, but learned a lot)
* **2010-2013:** Rails at startup [Relatel][relatel] throughout high school (phone support software startup)
* Grew up in Aarhus, Denmark.
